Bank funds transfer fraud..HELP!

Hi,
Recently I saw an add for a mobile phone on gumtree and contacted the person. Long story short, he asked me to transfer the money to his account and on receiving the money he will send me the goods. I received a package this morning with newspaper in it  i am so frustrated. I know its stupid of me to trust him like this but is there anything i can do now because I am £200 out :( . I have his sort code and account number thats all what can I do with this information?
Thankyou

Have you had a word with your bank as they are probably best to advise you?
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

You need to report to Police and advise the bank that this account has been used for fraud
  • I Spoke to the bank and some Indian lady sitting in India named 'Beth', said there is nothing they can do because the transfer was authorised by me :I ..

That is correct, a bank transfer is 'sent' so it is very difficult to get anyone to help when you have willingly sent a payment. It cannot be recalled and banks don't have to give you any details of the recipient account. They are the new scammers choice of payment as there is no way sender can get the money back, and there is even a chance that a big con might mean lots of people paying into a new account and the account cleared and closed.
