hubby works in london,as he is shiftwork its a nightmare remembering on the odd day shift ( sometimes he goes into the CC ZONE half a hour before 6.30 and sometimes waits in hyde park with everyone else until its 6.35!!) he does to pay the CC i have got a card now to pay via their automated service, and we used to pay by text.
it would be great if a text could be sent to remind you to pay. when i rang them up once to see if they could tell me if my oh had paid as i couldn't contact him, they said they could only tell me that when it would be too late as they do not gather all the information until the end of the day
good luck.Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.0 -
£50 for being a day late? Isn't that a bit harsh?
NOONE ever wanted this darn congestion charging and it has been implemented in the worst possible way for the commuter. People do forget.
And remembering the next day costs £50. Absoloutely ridiculous.
Going to do all that is possible to prevent Tyrant Kent returning for another term. Mayoral elections cant come soon enough0 -
Anyone see the Mail on Sunday article today (probably in other rags too) about a chap who has been let off Congestion charges because he has quoted the 1689 Bill of Rights?
Worth a try!:rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I forgot once and phoned them up at 9:56pm. I was on hold for so long that by the time I spoke to an operator it was gone 10pm and they charged me the tenner despite my protests .
I would say contact Ken's office but it'll only get referred to someone else but perhaps if your local councillor or your local MP were to get in touch with Ken you might have more luck. Agree with the use of the consultants letter, everything helps.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

Hi. I don't know if this is any help, but I live in South London, just outside the cc zone, and there is unmetered parking nearby. If you want to, pm me and I'll give you the details of where I am - then it's just a £1.50, half hour bus ride into town. Obviously if you are transporting people rather than visiting, this may not be practical, but thought it might help someone!
