Face Painting

Hi there!
Basically I've been working in an art store for the past year and left this week. I did facepainting all of last summer during the weekends in the shop and I became pretty good at it.
I was thinking about doing some kids parties etc to earn a bit of extra money for university. Anyone know how to go about this? I assume I would need a police check or something?
Thanks!

You cant get a police check for yourself nor can a parent, only an employer (includes agencies) can get one for you. http://www.crb.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=381
So long as you aren't going to be left on your own with the children i.e. there's always another adult/parent there, it's not a problem anyway.
Being able to provide references is important, and if you have a website where you could put up some pics of the face painting you've done (with parents permission) that would be great, as parents could see your standards of work.
Working out a pricing structure, and Howe much time it would take for x amount of kids is important too, and assuring parents that you are using quality products (as people worry about allergies etc these days).A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
