% of your take home salary on mortgage payments?

Holy crap. There are some scary figures here. I dont think I could sleep if so much of my income was in one area, particulary in this low interest rate environment.
I'm mortgage free on my home in Thailand. Rental in London comprises about 20% of takehome.0 -
Joint Mortgage. Take home pay varies for me but averages £2000. Wife brings home £900 i think. Morgate is £690, so what's that 23%?0

I wouldn't have thought being mortage free on a pad in thailand was anything to brag about, mate bought a villa cash in phuket for 50k not long back.0 -
49% including overpayments, but on quite a large income which as others have stated clearly makes the %age less relevant.
Should be MF in 29 months at the latest.... then it's all going on the BTL.0 -
7% of joint income or 10% of just mine.
We have a tiny mortgage and no debts and I'm rather happy about that right now although we live within our means and have a nice 2 bed semi in Surrey when many of my friends live in large spralling piles with £400,000 mortgages.....I know where I'd rather be right now....0 -
I am paying 20% mortgage payments. However, I am paying about 4.5 times what my mortgage payments were previously, to clear it this year, it could be as low as 4%.Mortgage free
Vocational freedom has arrived0 -
Currently 9% of my sole take home, but did buy back in 1993 at the right time. If I bought my property two years ago I would be paying roughly 36%. I'd hate to pay anymore than 25% come what may no matter what happens to house prices in the future.0

was 26% but with current climate and forced cuts its now 53% and yes i am struggling to eat, looking to downsize before i am forced into an IVA agreement or worse case bankrupcy0

~21% now, would be ~27% at 5% and 50% at 13.5%
