You need to see how you like it.
Blue steak means hit the grill with it, take it off!
Rare means hit the grill leave for about 1- 2 minutes.
Medium Rare (how I like mine) hit the grill leave for 2-4minutes
Well done (yeuch!) Leave for 5-7 minutes.

For me blue means shout GRILL at it from across the room.:rotfl:

I have been known to eat it raw.;)

Really? That's all it takes to cook? It's probably 2cm's deep or so.

Yup. That's it. If you want a nice sauce, pour a little bit of red wine into the pan while the steak rests and scrape off the bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. If you add finely chopped shallots cooked gently in a little butter you have a sauce the French call sauce echallot.

The resting bit is important as it makes the steak much more tendererer.

The cloths will need stewing for quite some time to make them tender enough to eat.

The crazy foreigner from Beef Land says: rub oil and salt on the steak, then fry on a griddle pan, 2-3 minutes on each side depending on how well done you like it. You can whack it with a hammer beforehand but that's optional. Enjoy!

Perhaps I should invest in a slow cooker.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
If you like garlic, I would add a finely chopped garlic clove. Rub oil into the steak, then garlic, salt and pepper. Repeat on other side and leave for 10-15 minutes before cooking.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

For the cloths, I'd take some stewing beef and brown it in a pan. Add onions, carrots, celery, a bouquet garnis, some stock, a good dash of red wine and the cloths and put them in a slow cooker.

Then sit down and read the paper while drinking the rest of the bottle. Then have a sleep as you just started drinking at 9am so will most likely feel quite tired after drinking a bottle of wine at that time of day.

After about 6 hours, remove the herbs and the cloths and throw them in the bin. The stew will be delicious with some good buttery mashed potatoes and perhaps some green veg.
