Ready to use frozen chicken

Options
Morning everyone

Me and OH did our shopping at asda last night and got some chicken, I didn't defrost because it says you can cook from frozen. Is it okay for this to be used in the slow cooker? It's only going to be my 2nd go with the slow cooker so don't want to make anyone ill!!!!

thanks

I'm not sure I'd put it in the slow cooker unless it was defrosted first. If you have a microwave you could defrost it in that and then put it in the slow cooker. To be on the safe side!

Hope this helps, but in any case someone with more experience will hopefully come along soon.
  • You can cook it in a slow cooker, it should be ok because it is cooking long and slow
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I use it in the slow cooker all the time and i've never poisoned us yet.
  • You could seal the meat on the hob before cooking in the slowcooker.

make sure it's hot all the way through and you'll be alright.

No blood from the thickest part of the thigh or the cavity is the usual way to check. A meat thermometer would also work.

I bought a bag a few months ago , thinking that would be handy to have as emergency. Had wondered about the SC also

I cant seem to bring myself to use it though, it seems wrong and against what we have been taught all along ! IYKWIM!
