Hi,im going to London next month (mon - fri) and really want to take my DD to see Hairspray The Muscial.
I found a discount code once before but stupidly didnt buy the tickets at the time,it was via a mothers club and it gave you bogof on a Monday night.

They were doing top price tickets for £25 through Get Into London Theatre (I went to see Billy Elliott). I think the promotion finished mid Feb, but might be worth still taking a look just incase.
Here is the MSE link:

the offer is still on the mumsnet home page. For every full paying adult, one child can see this smash hit show absolutely free on a Monday night between 5 January and 29 June 20090

If you go to Leicster Square, there is a half price ticket booth. Basicly, you go to the booth the night of the show you want to see, if there are any tickets left, they sell them at a massive discount. I got stalls tickets for Wicked that way- they have tickets for most of the shows and its a first come first served basis, they get rid of the best seats first. Some nights they may not have the show you want to see, but they will have other shows- you could ask them if they do have tickets for the show on cetain nights of the week?
Otherwise, you could try seeing if there are any student discounts (presuming your all still full time studying) not sure if they do but maybe worth a try?
Also, if you are at college, get a group of you (like 40 or so) together and write a letter to the show. Explain you are the organizer and trying to organize an end or term/etc evening out before/after your heavy exam load. When I was at 6th form, we did this for the year group and got to see both Oliver and Miss Saigon at a discount.0 -
www.theatremonkey.co.uk lists current discounts and promotions.
Details of what's on sale at the tkts booth on a particular day can be found here.
You can also buy stalls front row tickets on the day from the box office. I think they cost £25. From memory, they go on sale at 10am, though you may need to queue earlier to be sure of five. I think we were there around 9am last summer and were about 3rd or fourth in the queue. The view from the front row is good too.
Hairspray is fabulous. Have a great time!0 -
Be aware that the free child place needs you to buy a full price ticket though (top whack is about £80!) so it might be worth seeing what else is available - i got 3 seats for a Fri night in the gallery for £70 ish for all three!
Also, if you want to see Michael, avoid Monday nights as he doesn't do those. It aint over til I've done singing....0 -
