price of steel?

i work in a timber yard and most of our bundles have steel bands holding them together. we have a big skip to put them in and we have someone come and collect it from us. but i was wondering how much would i get if i were to save some of the steel up for myself and take it to a scrap yard. does anyone have a weight to money calculator for steel?
