Hi I bought a car from these and it was financed by a company called marsh.

Vauxhall astra 2005 model bought this in 2007 november.

cash price £8300.00

deposit £100.00

interest £7161.80

document fee £255.00

total charge for credit £7476.80

259.78 a month

they said i have p.p.i and had to take it out but in the contract it says

Optional Payment protection insurance £.0.00

i am assuming they have screwed me because they said i hadto take it out and it covered me if i was ill or on maternity leave, i am on maternity leave now and my wage is about to half and the company have said i didnt take out p.p.i, but i did.

Help please Debbie

you need paperwork proof to show that what he "said" contradicts the contract you have. verbal is no good - its you word against theirs and it will go nowhere - all that can relied upon is written evidence and if there is no payment protection paid for, then it will be deemed that you do not have it and therefore cannot claim.

i hope you can get something from it though - but a papertrail is evidence and worth as much as the loan/car... its priceless..

Well looking at the figures you have quoted above, if your loan was over 5 years / 60 months then it doesn't look like you did take out PPI. This would also be supported by the fact that it says PPI £0.00!

As Cashpig74 says, to be sure you will need to check your paperwork. I also don't think that PPI covers people on maternity pay anyway although I may be wrong.

PPI is generally for accident, sickness or unemployment.
Maternity doesn't count as one of those (Apart from morning sickness lol)
