Anyone tasted this and can recommend it??
At least it is whiskey based and not wine like some cheapies.
Last of our Baileys went last night and this could be worth trying. It should be ok if it's part of the "Taste the Difference" range.
I've got a £2 off voucher as well as an added bonus.

Lidl do a Whisky-based Baileys copy as well (bizarrely named Queen Margot!) that I'm sure is cheaper than this (I got a 70cl bottle at Xmas for £4.49 IIRC so proportionately quite a bit cheaper). No idea if it's still available.

Edit: It's apparently won awards, I'll have you know. :p

How near was it to Baileys??

Whilst I wouldn't describe myself as the Oz Clarke of the liqeur world (more James May, tbh :D ) I thought it was pretty close. Certainly close enough to suggest Baileys is frankly ridiculously over-priced. ;)

Baileys is well overpriced, even at Xmas when on offer.
I think I'll try the Sainsbury one as I have £2 off, so at £7 litre it's not too bad.
I'll let you know how it is.

The point is that the Sainsbury one is not really half the price of Baileys, as in the run up to Christmas a litre of Baileys was ten pounds or less if you shopped around. Both Baileys and the Sainsbury product are ludicrously over-priced. I remember giggling when I saw Sainsbury proudly proclaiming before Christmas that their tiny little 35cl bottles of this "liqueur" were half price at "only" £3.50 for a 35cl bottle, which means they would usually be charging £20 per litre for this imitation product if it was full price - absolutely scandalous price for what is, when all is said and done, merely an imitation of Baileys.

As it was I had a Shining Star voucher to spend, which could only be spent at Sainsbury so I did buy some and it was very nice. Still not the real thing though!
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Actually this is pretty good. Just tried it tonight to celebrate "Paddy" and it tastes nice, and at £9 per litre it's worth a try (I got it for £7 with a voucher). :D
Very, very close to Baileys and I'm not that sure I don't prefer the Sainsbury's one - quite impressed.

I used to like a drink called Devonshire Cream but I haven't seen it for ages. It was totally gorgeous. I'm wondering if the Sainsbury's one is similar.....looks like there's only one way to find out!

At 20 measures per bottle, or 45p per measure, it's worth a shot. I was impressed, though liqueurs are normally pricey anyway, not just Baileys.

I bought a bottle of Lidl's Queen Margot, it was £5.49.
It's really nice and I would go so far as to say it's nicer than Baileys! It's very pleasant and I'm just away to pour myself one!
