Hi
I don't know what link you mean about the soda crystals, but if you want to know where to find them, they can usually be found in Tesco & Morrison (sorry, don't know about other supermarkets) near the washing powders - usually well tucked away with all the other small related items. They cost something like about 52p - they are normally in a blue & white plastic bag - about the size of a bag of sugar or thereabouts. The instructions are on the packet, and there is also a website listed where you can find out more.0 -
Thanks Chipps. What I meant was how and what to use them on. Someone mentioned in the washing machine etc:
I have used them for years, but only on the greasy oven racks (soaking them to get them clean), so didn't know what I'd missed on the OS front. I thought there was a thread maybe on the topic.

Just choosing one thing (which is difficult), it would have to be the enthusiasm for breadmakers! Before I started reading the daily threads I hadn't realised how easily and usefully these can fit into daily life. I had not thought I could justify buying one as it did not seem OS enough IYKWIM but now I have and we enjoy the pleasures of HM bread every day, not just occasionally.
Thanks though everyone, for the many, many, hints and inspirations :A0 -

I think , for me, buying a Slow Cooker. I've been able to swap to cheaper cuts of meat and it has really saved me money. I never bought braising steak/shoulder of pork etc inthe past, it was always sirloin/rib of beef or loin of pork - a huge difference in price!
