I have saved £100.00 in one year by cancelling my window cleaner. I only have 3 small windows that look out to the front of the house all the large windows are at the rear and we are not overlooked. They dont look dirty even when the sun is shining on them. I do clean the front living room window outside myself, as its small and not a problem, the rest still look fine after being unwashed for 12 months! Hard to believe I know, as I am particular about my windows, perhaps its because they are now double glazed? I dont know but I do know I will not be seeking a new window cleaner again, the money I saved has bought me stuff I needed but couldn't afford.:j

£100 a year? Coo! We pay £4 a month for the front, £6 if he can get into the back (back alley is gated and then our yard-gate is locked), for 4-pane bay + tops on both floors, 4-pane window & 3-panes + door at the front, 2 x 4-pane, 2 x 2-pane + door at the back. Cost us a fortune for the double glazing!!
Think ours is a bargain......and it's a no-ladder, non-streaking jet-washer.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm in the "I wash my windows once a year - whether they need it or not" school of thought. There IS a snag to that though - I live in an urban area - so they could really do with being done rather more often than that.
......goes off muttering "I make enough concessions to living in an urban area anyways.....breathing in pretty darn polluted air perforce....without having to do extra work as well.......(ie cleaning windows more often)".......and theres a thought thats just cheered me up a bit.....bring on the lower air pollution levels of a few years time....0 -
I used to have a window cleaner but got rid when he was collecting money and had not cleaned them - we had suspected that he was conning us but we marked the windows and they were not cleaned.
I'm of the 'clean when required' persuasion - so I can't actually remember when they were last done:eek:0 -

Mine uses that system. £18 for outside only, £45 for inside & out:rolleyes: (only get inside & out done every "other" wash).0 -
I've lived here for almost three years and can't get a window cleaner.
I have 13 windows(all a 6ft drop) that need keeping clean and have resorted to this method which by the way works.
I put a (strongish) stardrops solution in a spray bottle, lean out and spray the panes of glass and wait for the rain.It washes away the solution and the windows are always sparkling.
For any bird poo or stubborn marks I bought one of those disabled grabbers and use it to reach out with a wet cloth to give any marks a rub.
I live on a main road and would'nt be able to see out the windows if I had'nt resorted to this method.I guess I've saved a fortune though in the time I've been here.0
