Have made sesame snaps for the first time and they look great
When I have pulled all the little bits of paper off they taste great too, but cant see my lot sitting down taking off little bits of paper for 10 mins before eating one!
So how do I get it off?
mumbles.....must get silicone baking sheets:o

they're the. ones that have marshmallows and rice crispies in as well as rolled oats. when OH made them last time with daughter this happened so this morning I greased the greaseproof paper but it's still stuck. they're not 100% cold yet but I can't see them improving that much. Is there any way of removing the paper or any tops of how to get it right next time. last time we had to scrape off as much of the flapjack and it just crumbled - or eat it with the paper on and spit the paper out. god family coming for the day tomorrow and were going to have this for tea. is there any hope.....?0

This question was asked before - it's a shame I can't find any answer! What did you decide to do in the end? I would try to salvage it as best I can but i wouldn't want my guests spitting out bits of paper. I would make something else to be honest - probably not what you want to hear.!
I merged this with the older thread, in the hope that someone will have a magic answer!

/I found a solution. turned it upside down with greaseproof paper on top and put under a hot grill for about a minute (no choice about grill temperature as our thermostat is broiken!) and the paper came off quite easily. presumably the grill heated the butter and stopped it being so sticky. have my oh to thank for the idea! I've now also made a chocolate tart and some jelly with respberries in which I'm hoping will look quite nice. Not showing off just surprised at myself as I'm hopeless at baking!0

I always use baking parchment, very much like greaseproof paper,
but i have never had anything stick to it0 -

Its a mistake I have made until recently too, thinking greaseproof is non stick! It isnt!
From Wiki ...Greaseproof papers are papers that are impermeable to oil or grease and are normally used in cooking or food packaging - & the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greaseproof_paper
but Parchment paper and bakery release paper, are cellulose-based papers that are used as a disposable non-stick surface intended for use in baking. Both are also called bakery paper. - & the linky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakery_paper

As Psycicpup says, you have the wrong paperGreaseproof is for wrapping sarnies; I use Magic Liner. It's not cheap, but is washable and I've reused mine for years :T

i either use baking parchment or silicon paper but just confuse the issues sainsburys baking parchment has been renamed and now is no longer brown but white like standard greaseproof, it is still non stick iykwim'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

I know this is an ancient post, but I had the same problem and tried to google a solution - mine were all crumbly and falling apart too! In the end I put them under the grill and peeled off the paper then microwaved them, and spooned the crumbly bits into cake cases squished them down and put the in the fridge. Much better!!0

Might try lightly greasing the paper with butter (not margarine, 'spread', or any sort of oil or spray) before putting the items on the paper for cooking. Butter is a great release agent. You'd think any sort of oily thing would do as well, but it doesn't.0
