Help needed on an unsecured £2000 loan

Options
Hi there,

MY partner wants to take out a £2000 fixed unsecured personal loan for 18 months, but we just don't know how to start to look through all the different companies for the best deal, we've just been trawling through.

is there anyone who can tell us where is best to look for this kind of loan?

thanks in advance for anyone who can help us, i'm trying my best to be better with money and this site has helped me already.

    kris,

The best deals are usually available on longer deals for higher amounts.

Suggest you try Nationwide who don't discriminate too much based on loan value.

Also worth looking at Egg who do a good value flexible loan.

  • thanks for your help,

yeah, the problem seems to be that every one we try and speak to, wants us to take out more???!!!! I know they would prefer this but it makes me angry- i'm their customer and they won't get my business if they don't give me a loan!

i'll try your suggestions and see how it goes.

The money is so that we have a lump sum to restore our classic mini over the spring and summer. To wait to save £2000 would mean the car would sieze up and therefore, cost more to repair. A lot more than the interest on a loan!!!

I didn't know you could find so many bloodsuckers in a bank!!!!!!!!!

    anyway,thanks.

    more advice is very welcome!!!

As the loan amount requested is not a relatively high amount have you thought of a 0% CC FOR 12 Months? that works out about £170 per month in repayments and if you dont repay by the 12 months why not switch to another 0% CC that way you wont be paying any interest on the loan and make sure you dont take out PPI!
