Dwarf Beans

got some of these late on in sainsburys yesterday, red to clear, but i've no idea what to do with them, i assume i top and tail them like normal green beans, and boil, but has anyone any ideas how to serve them? (and if the preperation is right?) also can i freeze them and if so how?

  • Yes - just prepare and serve as if they were those Kenyan green beans that you normally get ... or runner beans. Try not to over cook as you want to retain some "bite". They should be tasty enough on their own, but you could add some sauté bacon bits.

    Yes - you can freeze them. Top 'n' tail, blanch (put into boiling water and simmer for no more than one minute, then plunge into ice-cold water), bag, seal and freeze :)
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
