Maplin bargains - phone/clockradio £5 and oggz-like £12.99

I'm not a big fan of maplins as they're pretty expensive, but i had something to return (aerial that was £10 in argos and £20 in maplin!).
Saw a clock-radio with built in telephone for fiver. not sure of the quality at that price, but might be worth a go!

Also some rechargeable lights - like oggz but round for £12.99. i've ordered some of these, as they only had the display one left. look pretty good. I've got the proper oggz at home so will do a comparison (these are for my sis for her birthday if they are any good)

I bought a bargain multi-scart switcher box for £9.99 from Maplin, at least £5 cheaper than anywhere I'd seen on the web. Agree with OP about Maplin generally, but must admit the freeview PVR with 80Gb HDD for £99 caught my eye.

I'd have been tempted if I hadn't already bought the Panasonic DVD recorder from Richer Sounds that I saw on this forum (hence the need for a multi scart switcher) :rotfl:

But, as has been said many times on the Aldi PVR thread, this Digifusion unit is only a single tuner machine. I.e. you can only record the programme being watched. PVRs come into their own when they are twin tuners and you can record one programme while watching another.

i'm a bit disappointed with maplin customer service at the moment.
2 fridays ago i had to return a dvd hdd recorder as faulty, seeking full refund.
last friday they replied to my email re: refund, saying they received on monday but engineer only testing that day, and will refund if confirmed fault.
surely a week (and still waiting) is too long a period ?
either they have too many returns, or just holding onto money till suits them (and not me).
