Bristol & West decision

Anyone know if Bristol and West will be dropping their SVR after the March decision? I am on a 2% below SVR till October so am currently on 1.49%

Any advice as what do to when my term expires? Is it true I can go on to the B&W SVR or since they have "gone under" am I forced to go to another lender?

    Hi,

No news yet if they have dropped. I spoke to them the other day and they told me I could go onto their SVR automatically.

I have mentioned this before so apologies to those hearing it again but to clarify, Bristol & West haven't 'gone under' They were the UK mortgage arm of the Bank of Ireland and have closed to direct new business probably due to lack of confidence in the uk market. They are keeping a minor stake in though by offering products through the PO.

My B&W mortgage is still being serviced as before, and they also recently confirmed to me that when my current fixed-rate term expires I too will automatically transfer to their SVR (and not a moment too soon!!)

Thanks Phirefly - I was wondering what the 'gone under' related to!
  • I called them today and got the under review spiel. Was told to call back in a couple of days... I'm not expecting any more cuts from B&W - they're one of the lowest and have a captive audience as far as people like me are concerned- at 91% LTV so no one else will touch me!
