How are you with youngsters? Lots of local authorities are about to start recruiting for Playscheme helpers/leaders.

It is quite good pay. You would work in a small team at a local community centre of similar venue keeping kids occupied during the school summer holidays.

The jobs are normally advertised on local authority websites.

If you can get yourself to Herefordshire or even Kent - you can help pick fruit, usually this is piece work and you get paid according to what you pick. It can be hard work and is good fun.

I'm currently at college, I finish in 8 weeks time for the summer and won't go back until the middle of September when I start uni (hopefully).

I currently do Saturdays and Sundays in a supermarket. 7 hours a week, we're not allowed to do any more than our basic and 7's mine.

I've asked if I could be put up to full time hours over the summer and was told not a chance so here I am looking for another job.

I've had a quick scoot but there's nothing on the job centre site so I'm thinking about employment agencies and the like. Obviously jobs are going to get snapped up quick for over the summer so I just wondered if anyone had any advice?

    Thanks in advance :o

I would have thought your best chance would be to ask for more hours at your supermarket

    Debt-free and Proud!
Ask at your university, we had a place like a job shop at mine, where people would specifically advertise summer jobs for student! i got an awesome one once, and managed to get £800 for one weeks work for a very prestigious company. (luckily for me, no spelling was involved)
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

Just checked on my local council's website and they have some but it has to be recieved by Friday so I'll have to get my skates on.
Thing is though I have no experience of working with children but I'd be willing to do that for the summer.

Do you think I wouldn't be accepted because of that?

As I stated I have and they won't give me any.
