I think Merry had some success with her nil tax code/housing benefit problem.

Daft thing is it can't be every council who is like this as we are not inundated with people who have posted about this problem and quite a few who go BR have housing benefit.

Tis true. There are not loads of people here with issues over it. But I would guess that most people who have some houseing benefit are not working too. But me being me, would prefer to avoid the problem if possible. If you have the fees then do the BR before the tax year ends and avoid any unnecessary problems.

With no likely hood of credit for the next 6 years or more a person needs to able to deal with anything that might hit them, like car breakdown, replacement white goods etc.

If you haven't walked a mile in someones shoes then who are you to judge?

My tax comment never stated who it would go to - the point was creditors get the advantage of tax rebates from only bankrupts.

We all have to deal with replacing things, not taking credit is a good thing for everyone (not just bankrupts).

DT is a place for discussion of differing opinions. The OP was quickly pointed in the right direction of where to post for pure help, and indeed did do so:

This is the Bankruptcy board now as the post was moved. But I appreciate it was originally posted in the Discussion Time board and yes you are right that is the proper place for discussion.
