CSA overpayment

Posts: 68 Forumite
My ex it appears, has overpaid the CSA by a considerable amount of money. He went self employed. As I have spent the money already, do I have to pay it back and if so, how will this happen. His payment has been reduced from £30 per week emergency self employed contribution to £13 per week.

I would imagine you will have to pay the money back if it is due.
A NRP has to pay any arrears on their accounts, so don't think it will be any different in your case.
It may be worth putting your repayment proposals in writing to the CSA & see what they come back with.
As you may have seen in other threads, put everything in writing & keep records of all communication.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!):beer:
CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer::beer:0 -
IF THE CASE IS STILL ONGOING WHAT WILL USUALLY HAPPEN IS THAT THE AMOUNT YOU RECEIVE EACH WEEK TO ALLOW THE NRP TO RECOUP THE MONEY HE HAS OVERPAID. iF THE CASE IS CLOSED AND NO MONIES ARE BEING PAID AT PRESENT THEN YOU CAN CONTACT THE AGENCY TO ARANGE REPAYMENT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.Comp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0
