Advice Needed Re Applying For Mortgage With Adverse Credit

Hi all
I am desperate for some help. My partner and I are looking to buy a house. We have a 25% /15% deposit to put down. My partner has no adverse credit but can not fund the mortgage on his own. I have had some bad credit which is sorted/settled now although the defaults remain. Because of a recent move and mix up with mail forwarding I have received a default from Capital One 10/08, the rest are from few years back. I beleive the recent one is causing the most problems. I was told that some high street lenders will consider you if the default is over a year old (Abbey)? Does anyone know the best brooker to approach, etc. Any advice would be appreciated .
thanks

But your default isn't from over a year ago. You missed payments for months by the look of things and from what you say have other defaults too - not looking good at all.
Best bet is to go to an adviser but you will be paying really high rates if you mange to get anything I'd think.0 -
gee your a happy chappy. Got sorted with a fixed rate of 5.89% . Thanks for info0
