Council Tax salary arrestment

Hi I wonder if anyone can answer me a question about Council Tax?
In this tax year we got behind on our council tax payments. It started off at £179 month and eventually we were meant to be paying £240 a month and could not manage this. Eventually they arrested my wages. The payment is now only £130 per month which is much more manageable and gets taken off before it get to my account. It stilll has 12 months to run.
My problem is however this years council tax. In April we should start paying £179 a month again. We are currently struggling to keep the roof over our heads (fighing tooth and nail to do this and determined not to lose the house). What I'm trying to establish is if they would arrest my salary again?
They cannot arrest my hubby's salary as he is self employed.
If anyone knows I'd be grateful for a reply.
Many thanks

I was under the impression that they could only have one salary arrestment running at once.
Have you posted an SOA?? If not try and post one and see if some of the experts can help you find a little extra each month.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Hi, I had a salary arrestment last year. It was a bit of a pain, because it made a huge dent in my wages, however I was lucky as it was only for a couple of months.
I'm not too sure about whether they can have one or two arrestments but I believe they can only take a certain percentage of your wage. I think it's done so as not to leave you below the 'poverty line' as it were.
Hopefully this would stop too much money being taken off.

Thanks but currently my outgoings are £60 more than my incomings!!! That is with everything stripped down to bare minimum, ie no mobile phone, no sky, walking to work and packed lunches.
There is no way I can shave anything else off my outgoings.0 -
Didnt you say you had an OH, isnt he paying anything towards the outgoings.
Its all Me and I in post 6
