Heating won't switch off!

I have a combi boiler (not sure how old).

The thing is that it won't switch off. The programmer is set at 'Off' and the heating still runs and has climbed from 20 degs to 22.5 degs and is stuck at this temperature. I have tried switching boiler off and resetting it - that didn't work, so have now turned the boiler controls to hot water only but the rads are still on! It's like a sauna in here

The shower is connected through the heating system and runs hot, warm then cold whilst you have a shower :o.

I have called out the heating engineer (coming tomorrow) but wondered if anyone has experienced this problem at all?

    Hi Jamie,

Its a Linea Vokera, there is no clock on the boiler - just 3 setting, rads and water/water only/off. I have got it on water only at the mo trying to cut the heat out of the rads!

The room stat has just gone up to 23 degs  no matter what I do to turn the temp down it goes back up again! The stat is turned to 'off' also.

Its like a bloomin' sauna in here and the gas meter is still going round despite no one using any hot water.
