one of my suppliers sent me a letter saying i owed them outstanding money and wanted payment in 7days i had already paid the amount on invoice so called them. they checked and confirmed i had but it had gone into their old account not the new one but said that was ok amount was £69 ish
today i ve recieved a CCJ form saying i owe £215.38 i ve tracked back to the invoices its concerning but all the statement the company sent me said i owed was the £69 i paid already
how can they issue me a ccj for an amount they didnt put on the statements? i m not sure if i owe them that amount or i ve already paid the amount but i m happy to pay what i owe just not fees for court and solictors when the amount they are claiming was never on the statements and they confirmed i was paided upto date
not sure what to do now can i go back to company with this or is it too late for them to cancel the ccj thing? or am i going to have to go to court over this
thankyou all in advance for advise

Hi Rob,I would send a letter straight back with photocopied statement saying payment has been paid in full.
Ask them for a breakdown of charges, which is what i suspect they have added( probably includes their court fees)
I am sure there will be something else to add, just off for a look for a template letter.
Edit to say i found this..hope it is of some use.

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

I assume you've received a court claim form. You need to respond within 16 days or acknowledge service and respond within 30.
If you dispute the debt and have evidence to back up your position then the claimant will either back down at that point or pay extra money to have the case 'allocated' and a hearing arranged.
But if you do nothing a ccj is awarded against you by default.
