Sorry if this is the wrong place.
When I start a new job after being on jobseekers allowance for some time how do I get my correct tax code so that I am not put on emergency tax?

I'm not sure, but I think the job centre will give you a P45 which you pass on to your new employer.0

if you start your new job during April or the early part of Ma, you will not be put on E code - your employer will automatically put you on 603L, the basic personal allowance.
If the P45 from the JC shows E code and you start your job outside these times, you will be on E code, nothing can be done. You would need to contact your tax office asap in order to ask them what info they need to put you on the correct code.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
