This thread is so great. I've been on budget, albeit a soft one by your standards, for that last 6 weeks and was really down and demotivated until I read your thread.

It's near the end of this week, but can I come join next week?

  • Thanks FF!

When do we start for the week? 15th? From the Sunday is it?

*THINK* I've got the signature right now. Working out all my debt took a while!

    Evening all

Miss Morgan and kate_pixie welcome. The challenge usually starts on a Sunday and runs until end of the working day on Friday. But if something else suits you better, then do that. The rules are you decide what you count in your weekly budget (mine is usually incidental spending that is not budgeted elsewhere, some people include everything) and then set an amount. Then post here as often as you want some people do every day (I try to, to keep track) and then post your results at the end of the week.

It usually takes a few weeks to get into so don't worry if you don't make it the first week. As long as it stops you buying one single thing then it has helped.

ladymay don't worry too much it sounds like you have a lot going on in your life at the moment. When exams and stuff are over I am sure things will be much easier for you. Hang in there:D

babs don't talk about chocolate I am off it for lent and it is starting to get tough now

For me today I spend 2.80 on lunch with a work friend, it was nice to have natter. Then 5.09 on a bottle of wine for bookgroup. Roll on the weekend.

Only two more sleeps until the weekend. Keep up the good work budgeteers.

I don't think I could cope for that long without chocolate. It would be harder than sticking to a budget :EasterBun Can't wait for Easter :D
    Looking forward to the future.
  • Didnt go to dance class last night so saved £4 last night so didnt spend any extra. However did manage to get M Jackson tickets but on OH card so shall pay him back weekly.
Nothing spent so far today, need to get milk and carrots but will get those out of grocery money.
Increased my extra earning this week as a few extra people signed up to my lottery so up to about £60 a month for that one.

    Happy Friday Budgeteers.

I spent £2 on Subway for lunch yesterday. That is about it for me.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • £4.55 last night. £1 on splitting a bowl of chips and £3.55 on a drink! Next week, I'm drinking at the SU beforehand, £1.50 for a drink, then I'll ask Amy to get tap water with her drink and I can have that. I'm too embarrassed to ask for tap water myself. :o

I'm sitting at £38 out of £40 and am going to stay there! In budget again, yay!!

My budget for next week will be £30 on silly things and the only other things I am allowed to spend on are budgeted for groceries.
  • £4 for me today as Red Nose things going on at work. Brought a £1 raffle ticket and won my Avon face cream which is great as I was going to have to buy some more and its £10 a pot, so that a £9 saving.
My budget runs out on Sunday eve but not got anything to really spend this weekend.

  • Does using the joint account budget for food count? I don't think so, or I'd have NO HOPE of sticking to £20 with my organic meat munching liability of a husband!

Hoping that the £20 budget only encompasses not needed 'desire' buys, if you like.

    That right?

If so, I'm starting from tomorrow! I'm so tired that I don't think I'm even going to leave my house this weekend!

    Enjoy the weekend all.
