  • Hi

You seem pretty switched on to me. If this is your dream home, go for it!
I would not be living in my dream home if I had not taken risks along the way. If the home you live in means everything and it is there that you want to raise your family you can always make sacrifices on other things, ie meals out, holidays etc. Makes sense to fix though for the longer term.

    Good luck.

Thank you all for your replies. I am still undecided about it. My heart really is set on moving and we have seen a house we like and it's the new build i mentioned. I just don't want to put us in a stressful money situation though. We're used to having enough to live comfortably and i would hate to jeopardize that.

I just don't want to look back on this time in the future and regret not going for it. I remember talking to my husband about possibly starting property development back when he first bought our first house and i wasn't on the mortgage. I was going to get a mortgage in my own name on a flat to do up, but it never materialised and looking back i can't help but kick myself. Hard!

This is all food for thought. Thanks again, and further comment and advice is always welcome. :)

hi, if it was me personally i would go for it aswell. Although like others have suggested i would fix for at least 5 years.
There are people out there that take a few risks some that take massive risks and others that tend to take none. You can cut back on certain things to help get by. At the end of the day stick your house on the market and see if you get a buyer, you might find your still on the market this time next year because there are no buyers.

You only regret things you dont do i say. If its your dream house then go for it.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

There are lots of empty flats with no tenants and landlords going bankrupt every day so perhaps you were right not to get another property!
Its very different buying a bigger home for you and your family to live in,
You can enjoy the extra room, second bathroom,en-suite,garage etc every day.
Modern houses are warm, cheap to heat, hopefully need no maintence for many years and have all mod cons so if you want it then GO FOR IT.

    Thanks again for the replies.

Unfortunately the house we wanted has been sold, so i guess we should just wait and see what develops in the coming months. We will certainly keep our eyes and ears open for another.
