I want to consolidate a graduate loan, car loan an a cc balance to the total of 10,000 over 5 years. My Experian score is 711 (poor) due to 2 refered debts from 2001 which i have since paid off.
I have never missed any CC or loan payments since 2001

Which loan would you reccomend going for? i aplyed to CoOp last year and got rejected. So which is the lowest rate loan i am 'eligable' for?

Many thanks for any advice offered

  • https://www.moneysupermarket.com allows you to get loan quotes whereby your CRA report with equifax is checked at the same time -but according to the blurb no footprints or record will be left on your CRA report might be a way to find out what lender would accept you - never tried it so can't say how reliable it will be.
  • Hi, do a search under 'consolidation' on the debt free wanabee board.
Its not always the best option.

Look into it carefully before taking the plunge :0
    Debt at highest £16k+
    Debt at lightbulb moment £14,800
    Current debt £6336
Cleared £4206 in November 05 How ? Bye Bye PPI :)
  • What are your APRs, limits and balances on your various loans?
    2014 Target;
    To overpay CC by £1,000.
    Overpayment to date : £310

    2nd Purse Challenge:
    £15.88 saved to date
  • Well i have an APR of 7.9 on a Natwest Graduate loan, but the payment cover charge is a joke, something like £2000 on a £7000 loan over 5 years. Liverpool Victoria is 12.9 over 2 1/2 years £2500 loan and my CC is at £1100 with a £1600 limmit.

If i could just get my 2 deferals of my record i would have an excellent score. They were defered in 2001 and paid off in 2004, when can i expect this millstone to be removed from around my neck???

You are incorrect. They will be removed in 2007.

I opened a Premier Direct Current Account with the Alliance & Leicester in February and Applied for a £10,000 loan in April with them with a Credit Score of just over 700 like your's.
They accepted it and gave me a rate of 8.1% in the end instead of the 6.1% that I applied for.
