Samantha, sorry I jumped into your thread without saying hello. Hello, i've discovered this forum tonight. I have a lot of debt (40,000) and was corresponding with a debt company, the debt point who charge for their services. As far as I can gather after reading reviews here and other boards opt for Payplan or CCCS. I am and am not signing the paperwork I have received. I certainly feel better after speaking to people on here. I like some of the terms like 'lightbulb day' Can't believe I'm laughing!!!

An IVA is obviously based on your income ain't it, my income ain't a fantastic one really £900 a month approx and that is including overtime, so the most I can afford is about £200 a month which is what payplan is basing it on thereabouts they are preparing it for me, I owe approximately £27k, so I pay £200 a month for five years if I get a better job with more money they review it but as it stands around £200 a month, after the five years the rest of my debt it is wiped off, the iva does damage your credit score though and I must admit I have been hesitating loads, and it is really scary, but I know I can't go on the way that I am, good luck with what you decide
