Am I entitled to a refund?

Hi.
I rented some ski's (online, before a ski holiday) from a ski rental provider, with the intention of collecting them in the resort when arriving for my holiday.
I sustained an ankle injury shortly before travelling, and decided not to collect the rental.
It wasn't severe enough an injury to warrant medical attention, and after it got better (a few days later), I ski'd anyway using friends ski's (which they weren't using).
I'm trying to get a refund on my rental, but they won't give one unless I provide a medical certificate. Is this a reasonable request?
Its a sub £100 rental so I don't think my credit card company would cover me...
Just seems harsh for them to keep the full amount, when I let them know I wouldn't be renting and they could have let them out to someone else... (not that they were short of them anyway, they had hundreds).
I don't have a medical certificate, but it was a fairly minor sprain. I doub't I'd have been given one even if I did go to a hospital there...
Any thoughts?

It;s in the past, just leave it. If its in there T&C's that you agreed to when signing up then not worth the hassle.0

I think they would have a case for keeping your deposit.
Imagine if they were the last pair available to hire and somebody else wanted to rent them?
They would lose business.
If you can't claim on your travel insurance (unlikely if you can't produce a medical certificate)then sorry move on and forget it.0
