Hello all.
I'm not quite sure how, but I seem to have the knack of growing aloe vera plants. Mum gave me a cutting a couple of years ago and i now have 6 LARGE plants, despite having 6 teeny plants only 4 months ago. I keep repotting and separating as i feel guilty when they seem to be outgrowing their pots.
I've given away millions to friends and family and noone wants anymore.
Any ideas how I can give them away or sell them as they're great plants but I'm running out of space.
Have considered car boot sales and stuff but they're too much effort too infrequently. Any other ideas appreciated.

Perhaps put up a notice in your local newsagents window, they usually charge about 25p a week or something...0

If your local newspaper does free adverts that might be worth a go, especially if you price the plants cheaper than they would be in a shop.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Perhaps try on Ebay?0

What is your secret?
I've just bought a couple of these plants and don't know how to look after them.
Any pointers would be very helpful.
I've just checked on Ebay and people are selling their home grown plants.
Good luck. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
I was given one by someone at work - and it's doing great! I hardly ever water it and it definately seems to love the neglect! Everyone else who was given one has killed it, and they said that they watered it quite often. I keep the compost nice and dry and it's thriving!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

the key does seem to be almost abuse.
it's a desert plant after all so it's used to dry dry dry and then a massive pouring once every few months. if the leaves get soft, or start reddening, it's usually due to overwatering or compost that's too good and is holding onto the water for too long.
also when it comes to replanting, and uppotting, i only do this when it's screaming out to be repotted. when the pot looks full to bursting. the pups have to be quite established (at least 1/2 inch wide, 6 inch tall leaves) or they die quite quickly after repotting.
