J2 Solutions...advice needed

Hi. Not sure if this is the right forum!

I have received a letter from J2 today asking for the whereabouts of myself using my married name. I have not had any debt in this name.
I previously had an old credit card debt in my maiden name (approx 2001) I received a letter from Lowells regarding this about 12-18 mths ago. I sent them the standard letter asking for a copy of original credit agreement but never heard anything apart from more 'threatening letters'
I have never phoned them.

1) Does asking for the agreement cancel the 6 yr statute?
2) Any advice what do with regards to the letter I received today, as not at all sure if thi is what relates to?

Thanks in advance

They have obviously been busy as you must be the 4th poster in the last 24 hours.

If you did not pay the debt from 2001 or acknowledge it in writng, it became statute barred in 2007.

This means that you would not be liable. How you would stand with a CCA request sent before the Statute of Limitations took effect (if you sent the letter before that), may be an issue.

If the letter you sent had "I do not acknowledge any debt to your company", you are covered anyway. If not it is more important when you sent the letter.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Thank you for your reply RAS

I did the 'do not acknowledge' bit after seeing the advice given on here and using the template suggested
