Looking for reasonably priced hotel for a weekend break at the beginning of Dec. The hotel should be within easy reach of Princes Street, my mum has mobilty problems and does not cope well with hills etc, also I dont know if I will be driving or getting a train so a car park at the hotel would be great (I'm not asking much am I!!) Any recommendations and opinions would be great.

I would probably pay up to £100 per night for the room, would pay for parking if I needed to, but thinking about getting a train but cant check times etc as it appears I can only do this 3 months in advance.0

The Mount Royal is in Princess Street. I think it will be pricey but you could go on Tesco deals, I am sure that is a hotel which is included. Not far from the Waverley train station, but I dont think there is parking.0

try the radisson on the royal mile, we got a good deal here last year and we are going again this year, the hotel is really nice, recently refurbished inside but with the original exterior it looks great inside and out. and well localted right in the middle of the royal mile.
oh and free parking in the multi story behind it....work permit granted!0 -

As an Edinburgh resident, I would encourage anyone to visit this city, but it's not the best place to visit for those with mobility problems. To get anywhere is normally via a hill and there are tram works on Princes Street just now which is completely shut to traffic apart from buses and taxis.
Look at for free hire of a scooter. Normally at the Mound and Waverley Market, but with the tram works, they may be elsewhere just now, so give them a phone.
