I have been learning french on and off for nearly a year now, and i need to move on from the basic beginners stuff. I have been looking for somthing to help me move on to the next stage without frightening me off. I want an audio type course, so that i can put it on my mp3 player.
I have been looking at a web site called 'rocket french', which looks ok, could any french speakers make any recommendations please.I don't need to write french, (not yet), just have a reasonable understanding/speaking.
Does anyone have any recommendations please.
If this post is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it.

I got a free CD and book with the Independent and they are by https://www.elisabeth-smith.co.uk. Have just been out to my place in France and took these with me - good for learning conversational French and for giving you a bit of confidence I thought. Not been on the web-site so can't recommend but these freebies definitely very good. There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.0

i-tunes has French lessons in the form of podcasts by a chap named Sebastien. There is a link to his website where you can download exercises and novels (in French) in pdf book form.

Get down to your local library and borrow all the Michel Thomas course. They might charge you £1! Well worth it.0

I'm currently doing the Pimsleur course which is very very good. It's alll audio but you can get help at the following website
http://www.phrasebase.com/forum/board.php?FID=51
You can get Pimsleur from the library or you can sometimes get a cheap copy on ebay.0
