Hubby worked full time from April 08 - Dec 08 (when he was laid off) and earned £17500, he has been claiming £60.50 per week JSA (cont. based) since 30/12/08 and is starting a new job on Monday.
Will he be due a tax rebate at all?

The JC will make a small tax refund to him once he is signed off. They will issue a new P45 to him and he should make sure he hands this to his new employer.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Don't count on the DWP issuing the tax rebate, although this is the way it should wek it doesnt always.

Do we apply for it ourselves then or will it be done by his new employers?xxx Nikki xxx0

As march is the last month of the tax year it will probably be too late to get the refund through the new employer ~ especially as his tax code from the JSA will be on a month one basis.
As soon as we hit the new tax year on 6th April I would write to HMRC if the JSA doesnt pay out.
