Help! Is my slow cooker broken?

Today I set a lamb casserole away in my slow cooker on low heat. It was on for most of the day. I was out during the afternoon and when I got back it was just about dried out! I only made a small portion, with about half a pint of stock (usually I do a bigger one with about a pint of stock). Should that have happened? Or do you think the 'thermostat' has gone and it's overheated? Any help appreciated!

Was the lid on properly? It will dry out if it is not.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

What size is your sc, and what is the wattage? If you're only putting a small amount in one of the big slightly higher wattage scs, it might overcook and dry out.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

... well it is a large size slow-cooker, and I only did a small casserole with half a pint of stock - the first time I've used so little - so that could be the reason. Anyway, I'm going to use it again tomorrow (with a larger size casserole cooking which has always been successful in the past), so we'll see how that goes! Thanks for all your interest and help.
