Nice and cheap for a digital camera with optical zoom. Personally I'd say it's only suitable for those on a very tight budget. There are better but probably not cheaper digital cameras out there. It's new but old & rather large I think. Difficult to find one cheaper that has optical zoom though.

A Quick Question?? - Why do I only find cheap Amazon deals while browsing Pricerunner. This camera is a good example. If I go to Amazon and click on digital cameras (under £100) I see 2942 results. Using sort by price arranges them in a strange/illogical order. On what planet is £148 less than £4.99. I don't really want to view all 2942 items, be here all day.

If anyone knows the planet please let me know, £148 per hour for minimum wage would be great.

How have Amazon survived for so long by making it difficult to find things on their site. It doesn't make sense? :wall:

I've had a Jenoptik 2mp camera for a while now, and it really isn't bad, whatever derision may be heaped on it.
I actually went on a visit to the factory in Jena, and was quite impressed. It's the old Carl Zeiss site, but unable to trade under that name now, so the pedigree is certainly there. I wouldn't be put off by the price, although I would be the first to admit that I know zilch about digital cameras. It would be interesting to hear some expert opinions from anyone who does have some detailed knowledge.

Amazon have reduced the price of this camera to £36.77. If you purchased one you should be able to get a partial refund from Amazon. I don't know how to do this but I'm sure someone else will fill in the details.

I bought a Jenoptik from Novatech in october, it cost around £57 (DOH!!!!!).
The camera really is great and takes fab pics, specially when OH takes them as I am a totally dumbwit when it comes to taking pics. I believe you can also make short videos with it.
It looks bulky (compared to other ones) and the batteries don't last very long if you are constantly using the zoom, but the pics are really fabulous!

Amazon is a horrible site to shop when you search it brings up all sorts of rubbish , out of stock items they dont sell no more, stock sold by 3rd parties it really needs a big overhaul

It's the lens that makes all of the difference and Jenoptik are renowned for the quality of their lenses.

I still have a 1.3 that cost me £70+ !!!!!

Good quality compared to any other 1.3 that I've seen so I would seriously consider this if I didn't already have a better one. (Panasoni Z3 which cost £199.00)
