Cash Converters Haggling

Maybe someone can help me, a few years ago i discovered that Cash Converters have a code on their pricing labels, but i cant remember how it worked. It goes something like this. BLACKSMITH is a unique word in as much as it as 10 letters that are all different, cash converters use this in there pricing system. Each letter equals a number from 0-9, but i cant remember if its
B=1 B=0
L=2 L=1
A=3 A=2
C=4 C=3
K=5 OR K=4
S=6 S=5
M=7 M=6
I=8 I=7
T=9 T=8
H=0 H=9
So on their labels imight have something along the lines of MK this equates to the price they paid for it (depending which system is right it will either be 75p or 64p). The numbers following the letters stand for the month and year they bought it. As they have a big turnover of items they dont like to keep things above 3 months, this is where you may be able to haggle a bit off the price, as i cant remember the full details someone else may be able to fill in the correct details if they still work this way, or maybe someone can tell us the bargains theyve had from there by haggling.
