Cheaper Forms of ID?

Hi there,

At present, both my husband and I are without valid forms of ID. My driving licence has the wrong address on it (and I've lost the paper part), he doesn't even have a driving licence and both of our passports have expired. We got really behind when I was very ill and now everything is out of kilter.

To fix this all up, it's something like £250. We're usually okay for money but we've also needed to make a lot of renovations to our home, and at the moment we can't spend that amount in one go. Just for the driving licences, the cheaper options, it'd be £100.

Is there any kind of pay weekly/monthly scheme that gets you ID? We're finding life quite difficult without them as even the most banal things seem to require ID!

Any help muchly appreciated!

I think changing your address on your driving licence is free, so why not justt do that?

Changing the address is free for a driver's licence but as they have lost the paper part they will have to pay for that. (£7.50 IIRC)

It isn't, as I've not got the paper part and therefore need to be issued for a brand new licence - full cost - if I want to change address. Not entirely sure why that's relevant, considering they'd need to be issuing a new paper part anyway, but thems the rules!

it's only £17.50 to get a new driving licence, I upgraded from a paper on recently and it only cost £17.50 so it won't cost anywhere near £100 to get yours and your dh's replaced :)
