Am I right in thinking that Married Tax Allowance is no more.

When you get married are you suppose to notify the HMRC

    You are right in thinking that MTA is no more.

    I believe you would only have to inform the HMRC of the change of name.
    Tax wouldnt be affected.

    Yes, this is right.

    Those who still get it can apply to have it split between them to set against their individual pensions income, otherwise it automatically goes to the husband.

    There are some advantages in being married regarding transfers for Capital Gains Tax and Inheritence Tax, but nothing as the other posters have said for income tax.
