What if these measures don't work either!!

So the interest rate is 0.5% and there will be £150bn created as part of the quantitive easing idea. This is to restart the economy and get the banks lending again.

Forgive me for being cynical, but none of the measures put in place have worked so far. What if these measure don't work, what is going to be the next step.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

Look for nationalizations of banks, limits on personal cash being taken out of the country, and even more government spending.

Or they could do an about face and just let the banks go under...

Well if you go by the past record, if it doesn't work they will just announce another even bigger dose of QE.

Maybe they could give everyone £10k to spend in this country must be spent here and not invested, mmm now wheres my pen and paper for my list.

On a serious note its gona take a while for anyone to see if its working anyway, in the meantime savers are getting nowt for there savings so there not spending and the people who arnt lucky enough to have a tracker cant get lower mortgage rates anyway so they arnt spending either its a no win situation.

FWIW, I think the next step would be fascist economics - the UK Government takes capital from where it can (probably private and local Government pension schemes) and redirects it to wherever it see fit (probably what remains of heavy industry in the UK - eg car manufacture - banking (natch) and also some vague idea of a future industry, perhaps solar power or maybe jet packs or whatever crazy notion Our Gorious Leader can come up with......

Fasicsm doesn't require racism or nationalism to work IMO. In fact, you guys are pretty much there! The racist/anti-semite thing is horrid but not necessary for facicsm to work.

Some news for you, he isn't your Glorious leader anymore, unless of course you have been doing something you have not told us about while you were away :D
