Not something a convential lender would do on a mortgage.
You could borrow up to £25000 unsecured though.
I would say the best starting point is the people who sell the barges.
They would probably know who would offer finance on them.
i believe that their are companies out there who offer secured borrowing on boats, but it is not an area I have any personal experience ofI am a Mortgage adviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I suppose at least you won't have worry about flooding any more. On a more serious note, the cost of mooring one of these boats can be a significant expense."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

search on marine mortgages
for example http://www.bankofscotland.co.uk/marine/finance-options/marine-mortgages/
although you may want to compare them to personal loans alsoAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
As payless mentions, there are a few lenders that will do this. It can get quite complicated so it would probably be wise to get a broker on board (excuse the pun) as it should ease things along a little better.
Can't say I've done hundreds of marine mortgages but the odd couple I have ended up with Barclays Marine.
