Two broken washing machines

Hi

I have 2 washing machines that are broken. I think it is the pump on 1 of them and the motor on the other machine.
I have now got a new one and need to get rid of these 2 quick as they are taking up space.
I don't want them just to be dumped as I think they could be fixed and used again. I had found a company that was local to me that took them and repaired them to sell on but I can't find them now.
Does anyone have any idea who would take them, I don't really want to let the council take them as they will just go to landfill I think. Other than what I have described they are perfectly good machines.

Many thanks
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

You could try freecycling them. State clearly that they are faulty but could be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing.

Your council won't send them to landfill. It's illegal for them to do so, as these items are covered by the WEEE directive legislation, so they will be recycled. Despite all the bad publicity there has been about recycling recently, prices for scrap metal are still good, and the council will have a contract with a recycler.
