Guessing you like the diamond but would like something more modern i.e. the white gold.
We did something similar, its possible. But you need a 'proper ' jeweller.
it was not cheap, but well worth it.
You keep the memories ( priceless ) but you have something you can comfortable wear.0 -
Yeah - you can't "convert" the gold as such, it's either white or it's yellow. But you can have a white ring made and have your Nan's stones removed from the original ring and set into the new one

It isn't possible to just change a ring from gold to white gold.
You could possibly get it plated in a different colour that you did like, but this would probably rub off in time and would need redoing.0 -
My daughter had an inherted gold wedding ring platinum plated and was told with constant wear it would last perhaps 3 to 4 years. Cost her £15make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thank you so much to all of your comments! Im going to take the ring to jewellers and see what my options are, of either putting the stone in a new white gold ring or coating the original ring, if poss i would like to get it coated, if its only £15 every 4 years id rather do that then change the whole thing completely but on the other hand i need to get it resized anyway as my nans fingers were way bigger than mine!
Thank you so much for your help! Really appreciated!:TMarried Hubby 21/03/12...First Bubba due 13/01/13

I have a white gold engagement diamond ring and white gold wedding band and what i didn't know, or actually found out until i put both rings on together, was that white gold needs replating everything 4-6 months as that is all it is plating and it is gold underneath. No one told me or my new husband this when we bought my engagement ring and only noticed that when i got married and had a newer wedding band next to it had gone yellow, the engagement ring was 18 months old at this point. We got these rings from H Samuels and as the insurance gave us free coating but would of cost £25. Hope this helps and I would enquire at an independant or reputable jewellers like beaverbrooks.december 2008 wins : 2 clothes show tickets, hamper of kids xmas books, peroni bowl :j
