1 closed Woolies.Living Sober.

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
The majority of the shops near us are one off independent stores, and we have a lot of non-chain restaurants and pubs, and a bunch of EAs (boo) plus a supermarket. The only things that have shut are one EA and Woolworths. It's going quite well! But then there is a bit of a support the community thing.0

Frankly, the departure of 1950s throwback Woolworths from the high streets is a good thing. An utterly awful business that failed to adapt to the times; it didnt deserve to survive. I remember being in one in Norwich in the 1980s (just as people's tastes started to change) and it was empty then.0

The problem is it opens a massive hole in the centre of the highstreet, and a lot of the shops around it are suffering from the hole. It doesn't take many shops closing before it becomes a chain reaction.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Woolies and shutopia shut. 2 empty estate agents, the rest are promoting cheap price HIPs.
