no problem david, can you just fill in a few details first-

    your age
    marital status
    residential status
    dependants if any
your health and if married your wifes health
history of longevity in your family
    current income
your tax status now and in the future
what other investments pensions you have
what other sources of income you will have now and in the future
outgoings both now and in the future
    details of any debts
    any future inheritances
if you plan to stay in the UK for the rest of your life
    attitude to risk
where your current pension is investedand whether there are any penalties to take the pension "early" ,possible terminal bonuses, guaranteed annuities, protected rights etc
what tax free allowances/investments you have made use of
any future major planned purchases / holidays of a lifetime / daughters weddings /car etcetc
your attitude to paying tax/ making charitable gifts etc

armed with these facts it might be possible to give you "advice" on this forum

To rephrase the question so all the extra info is not needed, "Will annuity rates fall further or rise over a timescale of , say, a year?"
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

so what your saying then is if the answer is yes, all the other factors are irrelevant.

so most likely annuity rates will fall in the next twelve months.

There you go then David, buy an annuity now. Keep it simple:rolleyes:

No, but the OP is not asking about other factors.

ARe you sure about that? What does "any advice appreciated.thanks" mean?

When you gather all the relevant information as detailed above and agree sensible assumptions you dont need a crystal ball. I havent seen such a shop, but then again I dont live in a fantasy world like you Ed.

How ironic, the queen of the misselling claim trying to me a smart a*** and mocking someone trying to answer a post as best as possible.
  • to edinvestor and whiteflag thanks for reply. My intention is to retire august 2010 really just wanted opinions whether to take annuity now or then. Did not intend to start WW3. Sorry.
