    At start of business tomorrow, tell him to phone for written confirmation of his dismissal for his lawyer.
    thanks generalonneill, we are holding off asking for it in writing incase the solicitor says that legally he is still employed and therefore he can hand in another sicknote next week

    I would sue them for the injury "Last week he was lifting something at work and he pulled his back" has he had any manual handling training?

    the solicitor rang and he has an appointment with them on wednesday, he rang acas again and he can't give in another sick note
