007 Casino Night.......Can it be done on the cheap?!?!?!

It's DH's 30th next year and I've decided to throw him a party, but as he's not keen on being centre of attention(but would like a party ) I've decided to take the emphasis off him a bit by having a casino themed party......

....problem is how do I keep costs down???? Has anyone done one of these before? I was thinking of hiring a company for the casino bit but that's not very MSE:p

I thought of having one a while back as you can buy small versions of routlette etc in wilkinsons but decided not to as I couldn't get past the problem of needing someone to run them.

You could just have some poker tables out which don't need supervising, poker sets and extra chips are cheap in Homebargains or wilkos.

I'll be watching this thread for ideas too!

Thanks for that, will bear it in mind and probably go have a nosy at how big they are:D

I'm swaying on the theme a little bit now though!!!
I've also got the idea of a 'Formula 1' theme as I'm getting him race tickets for 2010 and apparently you can hire giant scalectrix(is that how it's spelt??) so will probably price both up and go with the cheapest:D

Think the 007 idea is just brilliant. All the men in DJ's, which is quite easy and hassle free and looks amazing and all the women can go to town as much as they want!

Thanks, I thought it would be quite hassle free, however looks like hiring casino tables is going to be v.expensive...£600 for 2 manned tables:eek: No chance I can afford that!!!

Hopefully I can find a cheap and cheerful company doing the same/similar...ever the optimistic eh:D

we are having a vegas theme wedding party next month (we got married in vegas a few weeks ago)
