Massive Help Needed

As i have reported on other threads, i have been subject to massive identity fraud
Someone has taken out cards and loans in my name to the tune of about 18k
I am in the process of trying to get these removed but it is taking so much time as you can imagine.
In the mean time, i want to purchase a new house, i've been with Northern Rock for many years, but they have said although i'm an excellent customer who repays more than double what my monthly payment is, they wont touch me until everything is removed from my credit file.
I simply cant wait that long as i have a really nice house lined up. I've been to a mortgage adviser who has said i can get one of these mortgages for people with CCJ's etc, but she said i'd be tied in for 2 years at 8%. I have read that i could get one of these but not be tied in for 2 years, i'd take the rate if if could get out after say 6 months to a year. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to go ?
Lastly NR have said they'll charge me £6k for ending their mortgage, can they charge so much ???
Please help
Thank You

Last question first, yes they can. Almost all fixed rates have redemption charges which are expressed as a % of the original loan and you will need to pay these if you leave.
On your first point, I am sorry this has happened to you and I do know a bit about these things (my ex-wife was burgled in September and as part of the aftermath, the criminals sold on her details and she now has over £100k in fraudulent loans!) but I'm afraid your best option is to go and see the Rock with all the evidence as to why these loans/default etc are fraudulent and if you can prove to them that the credit issues are not yours, they may take a view on it.
Have you spoken to your bank yet? They will be fully aware of the issues and again be more sympathetic. I'm afraid I can't see a lender with whom you have no connection or track record with offering you the type of deal you are looking for.
I wouldn't have these conversations over the phone if you can help it, better face to face.

Can you not put the property off until your file is cleared up?
Prices may fall for a long time yet as funding has dried up so there really is no hurry - is there?0 -
Bump, can anyone recommend a good mortgage company that deal with CCJ debts ?0

Has your credit file been amended to highlight there has been fraud on your credit file?
Notice of corrections? Have you got paperowrk from teh companies that you would have signed agreements for - can they write you a letter confirming the credit agreements are fraudulent ones?
From memory, the adverse deals I can recall, would have penalties whilst tied in to the rate.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. No, the rates will be high as you stated in your opening post.
Becaon tend to be about the cheapest - have you had a quote for a Beacon mortgage?
The thing is if rates go up in 18 months you could be paying well over your comfortable budget.0 -
This happened to me 6 years ago. Someone ran up loads of debts, credit cards, bank loans etc.
I contacted soem lenders, they said I needed to get a crime refernece from the police before they would do anything - eventually I got one but i had to beg with the police as they said it was not a crime against me but the bank!!!!
Anyway, it worked, and I got the debt collectors off my back.
I aslso learnt that you can pssword protect your credit file with experian or equifax, this stops these identity fraudsters doing the same again!
Good luck0 -
