Well business must be good for them if they are opening a new call centre, must be all us bad people :D

When I have spoken to them it is usually a lovely scottish person but I have had the odd person with an ethnic voice.

Why do you assume that just because it's a 'funny sounding' member of staff it's in a different country? Surely in this multicultural society of ours it's reasonable to expect a diverse staff even in a UK call centre?

In any case, as long as they do their jobs properly I don't see what the problem would have been if it had been overseas. You don't have to be British to be able to answer a phone!

My Co-op paying in book states a P O Box address in Balloon Street, Manchester - perhaps this is the place.
